Akufo-Addo’s stance on homosexuality highly commendable – Bishop Jackson

Chairman of the Christian Praise International(CPIC) Bishop Dr. Stephen Owusu Jackson has commended President Akufo-Addo for declaring that his administration will not change the laws of Ghana to promote homosexuality.

He said the President’s stance is a welcome news which must be commended.

“I congratulate President Akufo-Addo and also encourage him to stand firm after making his stance clear. However, he shouldn’t bow to any pressure from the international community to change his by legalising gayism because if he does he will incur the wrath of God,” he said.

Bishop Dr Stephen Owusu Jackson said this when the Church held its annual National Tarry Conference that brought together about 2000 in Dormaa Ahenkro in the Brong Ahafo Region.

This years annual tarry conference was on the theme “Not by might, not by power, but my Spirit saith the Lord.”

He explained that President Akufo-Addo came to power through Divine intervention at the time when some people said he cannot become president and therefore cautioned him to remain faithful and loyal to God.

The President declared that the “Battle is the Lord’s” and committed himself to the Lord and it was on that basis the Lord that the Lord fought his battle for him when some people were even saying he cannot become president so he should remain faithful to God,” he said.

Quoting Roman chapter 1 which frowns homosexuality to buttress his point, Bishop Dr Stephen Owusu Jackson indicated that although homosexuals are also human beings like any other people,he said their behaviour makes them the enemies of God and therefore called on them repent.

He couldn’t fathom why human beings created by the image could engage in such practice when animals which do not have sense of reasoning are not doing so.

He cautioned the President against holding a referendum for Ghanaians to vote on whether to legalize homosexuality or not.
