A fireman from the Amasaman Fire Service department told tigpost.co that, they were informed about the incident at about 4.30am and were present at the scene within 5 minutes.

Although he commended first responders for trying to assist affected passengers, he advised that methods used in rescuing these victims could sometimes result in their death and so patience is to be exercised in such situations, so that the appropriate departments would attend to the situation.
