be succeeded in the Assin Central constituency following the 2024 general elections, as he did not submit nomination forms for the ruling New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary primaries.
This marks a significant change for the constituency, which has been represented by Agyapong for over 25 years.

The vetting process for the four contenders who submitted forms took place on Wednesday, January 3, 2024.
