Thank you for the emphatic endorsement of “brilliant” Napo – Bawumia to NPP National Council

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has expressed his profound appreciation to the National Executive Council (NEC) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for their unanimous endorsement of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as his running mate.

Dr. Bawumia took to his social media platforms on Thursday, July 4, to share the announcement and commend the NEC’s decision.

Dr. Bawumia extolled Dr. Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as Napo, for his exceptional qualifications and capabilities, describing him as both “astute and brilliant.”

Highlighting Napo’s extensive experience in various ministerial roles, particularly in the fields of education and energy, Dr. Bawumia emphasized the significance of these attributes for the NPP’s electoral prospects.

Notably, Dr. Bawumia underscored Dr. Opoku Prempeh’s instrumental role in the successful implementation of the Free SHS (Senior High School) program, a flagship initiative of the NPP government. Additionally, he lauded Napo’s outstanding leadership in transforming Ghana’s energy sector, a testament to his commitment and effectiveness in public service.

Dr. Bawumia firmly believes that Napo’s selection as the running mate will bolster the NPP’s chances of securing victory in the forthcoming elections.

He praised Napo’s dedication to public service and his unwavering commitment to Ghana’s development, asserting that these qualities make him a valuable addition to the party’s ticket.

“Today, I had the honour and privilege to present my choice of running mate Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh to the National Council of the New Patriotic Party for their consideration in line with the NPP constitution,” Dr. Bawumia announced.

He continued, “I thank members of the National Council for their unanimous and emphatic endorsement of the astute and brilliant Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as my running mate. To God be the glory.”
