Okuapehene Oseadeeyo Addo Dankwa III has officially rejected Kwesi Addo’s claim to the title of Amamprobihene.
This decision comes after it was discovered that Kwesi Addo had been portraying himself as Amamprobihene for more than two years.
In a video shared online, Oseadeeyo Addo Dankwa III explained that numerous attempts were made to communicate with Kwesi Addo, including delegations and summons, but he persistently ignored the authority of the Okuapehene.
The video, posted by the Okuapehene palace, depicted Oseadeeyo Addo Dankwa III visibly upset as he addressed the gathered audience, reaffirming his jurisdiction over the Amamprobi area.
During the 5th Awukudae observation, the Okuapehene stated, “Earlier, when the linguist was speaking, he mentioned some issues with regard to Amamprobi. Anything that has to do with Amamprobi is my business. Our ancestors established that place. My blood runs through that town as well. Everyone gathered here, including visitors, and even those fighting us, know the history behind Amamprobi.
“So, why is someone parading himself as the Amamprobihene or whatever he calls himself? When I ascended this throne, there was nothing like an Amamprobihene or even an Odikro from from that place.”
He vented his frustration, alleging Kwesi Addo’s involvement in deforestation.
“I have been reliably informed that he has been felling trees (deforestation), engaging in all sorts of nuisance. If he truly works with me, he would have honoured my summons.
“But as the Okuapehene, I have the absolute powers over that land. Therefore, I won’t allow that so-called Amamprobihene to disrespect me,” the Okuapehene stated.
