llegal activities at Kumasi Airport affecting operations – Management

The unscrupulous activities of some residents around the Kumasi Airport enclave is affecting safe flights operations, according to Management of the Ghana Airports Authority.

“Our attention has been drawn by the pilots who fly in and out of Kumasi to the burning of tyres on the airport land by unscrupulous individuals”, head of the Regional Airports Directorate, Kwadwo Abrefa Sarkodie bemoaned in a statement.

The director therefore warned the general public to desist from this unscrupulous activities to enhance flying and landing of flights safely as the place still remains security zone.

“In the interest of safety and security of the travelling public, we seek your assistant to stop the tyres burning activities”, Mr. Kwadwo Abrefa Sarkodie appealed to residents of Aboabo, Asawasse, Asokore Mampong and it environs.

Meanwhile, the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) in the Ashanti Region has vowed to stop the bad practices of the residents before any calamity before the nation.

“We are asking groups and individuals who throng to security zones for any reason to end. NADMO will from today is not going to countenance that”, Regional NADMO Boss, Mr. Kwabena Nsenkyire warned
