Incumbent Member of Parliament for Adansi Asokwa, Kobina Tahir Hammond, has vowed to mercilessly assault his contender, Sammy Binfoh.
A video shared on X by Joy News on Saturday, January 27, 2024, captured Hammond making alarming statements, asserting his intent to beat Binfoh in the polls and organize thugs to inflict physical harm on him.
Hammond accused Binfoh of allegedly hiring thugs to attack his supporters and disrupt the peace in the constituency.
“I am going to ensure that he is mercilessly beaten to pop. I will humiliate him at the polls and get him beaten. I am not going to organize disturbances; I am just putting it on notice. I will not disorganize anything here, but get him wherever he is and tell him to leave town immediately,” Hammond stated in the video.
The legislator further claimed that the previous night, body-built men were involved in altercations, beating some of his followers. He alleged that after the confrontation, individuals described as “macho guys” came to his house to seek reconciliation.
Addressing an unseen figure referred to as “Mr. Commander” in the video, Hammond proclaimed, “I will give him two types of showdown. I will beat and humiliate him here and then organize for him to be beaten physically.”
