Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Engineers & Planners Ltd, Ibrahim Mahama, has made a significant donation to the Liberia Airport Authority, including 20 police vehicles and three 1,200 KVA power generators.
The donation was officially presented in Monrovia, with Liberia’s President Joseph Boakai and Vice President Jeremiah Koung in attendance.
During the presentation, Mr. Mahama expressed his deep connection with Liberia and reiterated his commitment to the country’s development.
“When I came here recently, I noticed that the Airport needed help. I didn’t waver, and through the assistance of the Vice President, who constantly reminded me about the need for these generators and cars, I ensured that the donation was fulfilled,” Mahama said.
He further emphasized his strong ties to Liberia, stating, “I didn’t know the items would arrive so quickly, but I was reminded to act. Liberia feels like home to me; whenever I leave Ghana, my next destination is Liberia. I don’t see myself differently from a Liberian, and I grew up with Liberians all my life. It’s all family here.”
Mahama highlighted the dual impact of his donation, noting that it supports both the airport’s infrastructure and the Liberian police service.
“Today, we’ve come to use one stone to kill two birds. We’ve supported the IGP and the police service with these vehicles. This donation is a small token of appreciation, and we hope to return and continue our work with you,” he added.
In response, President Boakai thanked Mr. Mahama for his generosity and assured him that the donated items would be put to effective use in Liberia’s development efforts.
