Fumso: Police detain 5 for reportedly kidnapping 4-year-old girl


Five individuals have been arrested in connection with the alleged kidnapping of a 4-year-old girl in Fumso, Ashanti Region.

The suspects, originally from Wassa Jappa in the Western Region, were taken into custody and handed over to the Fumso police for further investigation.

The arrested individuals, identified as Evans Appiah (38), Isaac Amoah (40), Yaw Pentey (39), Kwaku Aboagye (40), and Daniel Avevor (52), are believed to have traveled from Wassa Jappa to Akyem Oda in the Eastern Region.

Reports indicate their alleged involvement in illegal mining.

The Assembly member for Fumso Electoral area, Adakora Albert, confirmed the incident and reported it to the Fumso police, while concerned community members have urged the police to conduct a thorough investigation.
