Former Member of Parliament for the Bantama Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Daniel Okyem Aboagye, has sadly passed away, as reported by 3News.com. This unfortunate event transpired in the early hours of Saturday, September 23, following a brief battle with illness.
The late Okyem Aboagye had a noteworthy political career, serving as an MP for a four-year term after securing a resounding victory in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) primaries in 2015, where he triumphed over Dr. Henry Kwabena Kokofu. His tenure as an MP spanned from 2017 to 2021.
During his time as a parliamentarian, he actively participated as a member of the Finance Committee, until he ultimately lost his seat to Francis Asenso-Boakye in the NPP primaries leading up to the 2020 general elections.
Mr. Okyem Aboagye was also recognized as the Chief Executive Officer of the renowned transport company, 2M Express.
