On Friday, the youth in areas along the Achimota-Ofankor stretch helped de-escalate the challenges motorists faced on the road.
After several hours of downpour on June 3, the Achimota-Ofankor road was submerged.
Motorists found it difficult manoeuvring their way as the level of the flood water was worrying.
But due to the effort of the youth, they managed to continue their journey.
These young men assisted by pushing many vehicles to portions of the road free of water.
In a group of four and five, they carried out this activity on.Â
Their assistance however came at a cost. The cost of their services ranged from GH20 to GH30.
The amount charged depended on the relation between the service provider and the motorist.
“We charge more if your situation is complicated. Drivers who comply with our demands end up paying less,†the youth told Citinews.`
Some drivers who rejected their assistance and manoeuvred their way through the water had their vehicles broken down.
