A 55-year-old farmer at Ananekrom, who stabbed his wife to death for not returning from farm early, has been arrested by the police at Agogo, in the Asante Akim North District.
Joseph Yaw Prempeh, alias J. Y, on Saturday evening, accused the wife of not returning from farm early to prepare food for him and in the ensuing quarrel, pulled a knife and stabbed the wife in the armpit, resulting in her death.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mr James Amekah, Agogo District Commander told the Ghana News Agency, that Prempeh who went into hiding after committing the crime, was arrested from his hideout upon police intelligence.
He said the suspect told the police during interrogations that, he acted under the influence of alcohol and that, there were some satanic forces that influenced him to kill his wife with whom, he had five children.
DSP Amekah said the police were continuing with their investigations and the suspect would soon be put before the law court.
