Professor Joshua Alabi is such an inspiration; this is a tractor driver and son of a farmer who spent his teenage years working on rice farms.
His father was an illiterate and a mechanic who dedicated his income to get his children educated. His father was not a politician; he was an ordinary citizen breaking his back and working hard to put food on the table for his family. His father believed in the power of education to jump multitudes into very essential roles in our society.
He is now a Professor and a decorated Vice-Chancellor. He has been awarded the marketing man of the year and most influential public sector worker in our country.

Prof Alabi is a reminder, that no matter who you are, and how you look like, and where you were born, and who you were born to, and the circumstances of your growing up, you can pursue your goals.
In 1957, a man emerging from obscurity, our first President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, showed us what dedication to conviction could do for our nations and its citizens. Professor Alabi, like Dr. Nkrumah, has no family fame yet he has a dedicated mind and convictions on what this country could achieve for its citizens.
And his running for the President of Ghana must be a source of hope to lots of the Ghanaian people who think that our beloved country has no place for their talents and goals.
