Filling stadiums is not a criteria for winning Artiste of the Year – Efia Odo

Socialite Efia Odo has shared her view that filling a stadium shouldn’t be the sole criterion for determining the Artiste of the Year.

As discussions heat up on social media about who will win the coveted title at this year’s Telecel Ghana Music Awards, music enthusiasts are divided.

While all the nominees are highly deserving, online attention focuses on King Promise and Stonebwoy, who have gained international recognition with their music.

Efia Odo adds to the debate, arguing that stadium attendance alone shouldn’t qualify someone for the award.

She uses the example of Fancy Gadam, who has filled the Tamale Sports Stadium numerous times without winning the title.

In a tweet, she stated, “I think it’s cuz Shatta and Sark have won it twice so that means he too wants it twice (I’ve not mentioned names). The old man should just leave it for the kids cuz it’s evident that numbers don’t lie. If you like let’s compare King Promise’s numbers to others. If doing shows at the stadium is a yardstick, then Fancy Gadam should win AOTY, SIMPLE.”
