Ghanaian rapper Kwame Yogot has addressed criticism about whether he visited fellow musician Kuami Eugene following Eugene’s recent accident.
Some Ghanaians had been curious about his visit, considering their close relationship.
In an interview with Fiifi Pratt on Kingdom FM, Kwame Yogot expressed bewilderment over the need for public disclosure about his visit.
He mentioned that his social media posts concerning Kuami Eugene should suffice for those interested in his support.
“Why should I have to publicly announce whether I visited him or not?” he said.
When pressed about the specifics of his visit, Kwame Yogot responded with sarcasm, denying any hospital visit.
“It’s not the public’s concern. Even if I did visit him, it wasn’t at the hospital. I ran into him at a waakye joint while I was grabbing some food. It’s surprising how much people care about this,” he said.
Kwame Yogot shared that he learned about the accident from a friend and later verified the information with Kuami Eugene’s management.
“A friend informed me about the accident early in the morning, and I confirmed it online. I reached out to the engineer we both work with, who confirmed the accident. They were preparing to leave the hospital at that time,” he explained.
On March 17, 2024, it was reported that Kuami Eugene was involved in a car crash near the Achimota Overhead in Accra, colliding with a tipper truck around 11:30 PM.
