Ghanaian internet sensation Afua Asantewaa Aduonum has once again captured attention with her recent appearance on ‘Love Brewed,’ where she and her husband were guests on AJ Sarpong’s show.
Inspired by Hilda Baci’s cook-a-thon success, Afua revealed that she decided to turn her hobbies into a meaningful project to showcase Ghana.
During the interview, Afua shared, “I play music and twerk at home when I’m bored. My girls (daughters) understand the job, so they often join in the fun.”
Bored at home after completing her shows and other projects, she decided to embark on a Guinness World Record (GWR) sing-a-thon after witnessing Hilda’s accomplishment.
Initially considering a challenge for the fastest female 100-m runner in heels, Afua reconsidered due to potential dangers.
Instead, she chose the singing marathon, citing singing as her beloved hobby and mentioning the late Ebony as one of her favorite singers.
Afua Asantewaa attempted a five-day singing marathon that began at midnight on Sunday, December 24, 2023, to surpass the former record of 105 hours set by an Indian artiste Sunil Waghmare in 2012.
She ended at 7:00am on Friday, December 29, 2023.
Her event attracted a lot of celebrities and public figures including the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Alan Kyeremanten, Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, Sarkodie, Adina, Sista Afia, Wendy Shay, among others.
Afua’s attempt has not yet received a response from GWR.
