Former Big Brother Naija contestant Doyin David recently shared her views on relationships and marriage in an interview with Olufemi Daniel.
She emphasized the significance of companionship, stating that her primary reason for dating is to find a lifelong partner with whom she can share meaningful experiences.
While she values intimacy as a natural aspect of relationships, Doyin clarified that her focus isn’t solely on physical intimacy.
She expressed openness to long-term relationships, whether or not they lead to marriage, underscoring that genuine connection and friendship are essential for a lasting bond.
Doyin emphasized that while legal marriage is significant, her ultimate goal is to find a lifelong companion, prioritizing emotional connection over formalities.
“Sex is part of companionship, isn’t it? But it’s not the primary reason I date. I seek companionship, not just marriage. If it doesn’t lead to marriage, that’s okay; we enjoyed our time together. But if it does, then great—I’m open to a lifelong partnership even if marriage isn’t on the cards.”
“For me, marriage isn’t just about signing papers. I’m not undermining legal marriage, but companionship holds more importance. I want a lifelong companion, whether we’re legally married or not. I simply desire to have someone who will be my partner for life.”
