Actress Yvonne Nelson, has revealed that despite her achievements in the film business, she has faced many challenges.
The Chief Executive Officer (C.E.O) of Yvonne Nelson Productions shared that her life has always been about proving her doubters wrong.
According to the movie producer, she has had her fair share of hate in the Ghanaian movie industry.
“So when I started my family didn’t believe in me, so for me I just felt that I have to prove a point. I realised that I even had a ban on my head in 2010. A group of people came together and ban me (blacklisted), maybe the hate just keeps me going, so when people keep thinking they can mess me up that’s when I show them the hate keeps me going on,” Yvonne Nelson stated during an interview on TV3.
She said “ I am in my corner, I mind my business, literally there is too much hate out there. I am even scared to hang out with people, I don’t trust anyone.”
Nelson, a former Miss Ghana contestant, burst onto the movie scene with big-screen roles in Princess Tyra and Playboy. She delved into movie production in 2011. Her first production was a movie titled ‘The Price’, which was released that year.
She also produced ‘Single and Married’ in 2012 and ‘House of Gold’ in 2013. The latter won Best Picture, a category at the Ghana Movie Awards and Best Ghanaian Movie at the 2013 City People Entertainment Awards.
On October 29, 2017, Nelson gave birth to her daughter Ryn Roberts with her ex-boyfriend, Jamie Roberts. The actress remained silent about rumours of her pregnancy until she announced the birth of her daughter through a WOW Magazine Cover.
