Chef Ebenezer Smith, known as Chef Smith, who recently claimed the Guinness World Record (GWR) for the longest cooking marathon, was released from police custody without charges, as reported by 3news.com.
His manager, Benny Benjamine, was also freed after spending a night at the La Police station.
Chef Smith set an impressive record with 802 hours and 25 minutes of continuous cooking.
However, he and Benjamine were detained by officers from the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel on Tuesday, July 2, just after announcing the new record to the press.
Benjamine revealed that Ghanaian musician Nana Borro initiated the arrest, asserting that he had sponsored Chef Smith’s cooking challenge and was demanding the return of his sponsorship.
Accompanied by an official from Amadia Shopping Centre, Nana Borro brought the police to the press conference, resulting in the apprehension of Chef Smith and his manager.
