Discharge your duties with integrity EOCO boss to security personnel

The newly appointed Executive Director of the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO), Retired Commissioner of Police, Frank Adu-Poku has told police detectives and other security personnel to discharge their duties with integrity.

According to him, reliability and uprightness are imperative in establishing public confidence in the security agencies.

The unprofessional conduct of some security officers has been widely criticized by the public with many calling for a holistic reform of the sector.

But, addressing participants at the closing ceremony of an eight-week training course for detectives, the former CID Boss called on personnel to work towards redefining the image of the service.

“I urge you to demonstrate integrity in the execution of your duty. I expect you to be outstanding and diligent in your work. Never ever compromise on your integrity and professionalism; for if you lose it, it will be difficult if not impossible to restore it.”

“The threats posed to human security, peace and development by criminals and their wicked activities in Ghana cannot be swept under the carpet. It is imperative that law enforcement agencies collaborate and continuously build the capacity of its personnel for them to be efficient, effective and ready to deal these criminals,” he added.

Police Service must be held accountable Nana Addo

Ghanaians have a responsibility of holding the Police Service accountable to its vision of delivering protective services that meet international standards, President Nana Addo has said.

While congratulating the security agencies for “their work and their readiness to put their lives on the line” for others, the President further urged the Service to “continue to be professional at all times.”

“We should hold them [Police Service] to their vision to become a world-class service capable of delivering planned protective and peaceful services to the standards of international best practice in a democracy.”

“Let me say a few words about our Police Service because we need a credible and professional Police Service to be able to have a peaceful and united society. We cannot have a successful Police Service without the cooperation of the population. The cooperation stands for giving respect to the Police and encouraging them to earn the trust of the people by serving the public with dedication,” the President added.
