Chairman Wontumi calls for Presidential debate between Mahama and Bawumia

Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has called for a debate between the two Presidential candidates of the NPP and the NDC.

He wants both Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the current Vice President, and former President John Dramani Mahama to slug it out at a presidential candidate debate session, where both would articulate their visions and policies to the Ghanaian electorate.

In a recent interview following Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s lecture titled “Ghana’s Next Chapter: Selfless Leadership and Bold Solutions for the Future,” Chairman Wontumi proudly listed the media houses under his ownership and expressed his eagerness for the political discourse.

“I own Wontumi TV in Kumasi. I own Movement TV in Accra. I own Western Diamond in Takoradi,” Chairman Wontumi asserted.

He emphasized the importance of such debates in allowing candidates to present their achievements and future plans directly to the Ghanaian people.

“It is not about talking. It is too cheap for people to do propaganda,” Chairman Wontumi remarked.

He emphasized the importance of providing a neutral platform for robust discussions to inform voters ahead of the upcoming elections.

In praising Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Chairman Wontumi described him as a “God-given gift” to Ghana, underscoring his belief in Bawumia’s leadership qualities and contributions to the nation.
