Never underestimate the power of networking – Coach

Adum Branch Manager of Zenith Bank in Kumasi, Mr. Samuel Duncan has advised young professionals to utilise their contacts effectively. According to Mr. Duncan, that is one of the effective ways of sustaining a career.

Mr. Duncan was speaking during a workshop Career Day organised by No Business As Usuals.

“It is important for one to determine the kind of career they want either formal or informal.” He says

He explains that career is lifelong occupation and therefore needs other elements to be sustained and effective.

Mr. Duncan, however, maintains that every career must earn one a living in a legal or legitimate way”

Programmes Manager for NBU Project, Mr. Daniel-Boamah Okity made known the motive behind the career day event.

He says, it is to prepare young professionals for the journey ahead in their career. He has it that, civil society, NGO’s, Media etc must project youth to expose them to the reality on their respective field.

The NBU’s Career day 2.0 took a form of presentations. Trainees of the NBU who have started their business were given the opportunity to exhibit their products and share the SME’s idea with young professionals.

The European Union sponsored No Business As Usual project was set-up with the aim of empowering five hundred youth in the Asokore Mampong Municipal Assembly with hard and soft skills training. Which breaks down to training 175 males (35 percent) and 325 females (65 percent females)
