Agyemang Badu to join Portuguese side Rio Ave

Asante Kotoko central defender Emmanuel Agyeman Badu is on the radar of Portuguese side Rio Ave according to reports in local media.

The 22-year old defender could be joining Rio Ave in the summer after scouts of the Portuguese side were impressed by his performances in the CAF Confederation Cup.

According to information gathered by Primenewsghana.com, the player has already agreed terms with the Rioavistas.

He emerged on the transfer wishlist of clubs in Portugal and Serbia but the Rioavistas lads have won the race to sign him during the summer transfer window.

The defender joined Asante Kotoko from lower-tier side Phar Rangers and made three appearances for Asante Kotoko in the 2018 Ghana Premier League season which ended abruptly.

Agyemang-Badu has featured seven (7) times for Asante Kotoko so far in their CAF Confederation Cup campaign.

Badu will be expected to regain his position ahead of the game against Al Hilal on Sunday after missing the clash with Nkana FC last week.
