Humble beginnings: Adebayor celebrates invitation to French presidency by Emmanuel Macron

Former captain of the Togo national team, Emmanuel Adebayor, reflected on his journey from humble beginnings in his West African homeland to a prestigious invitation to the French presidency.

The former Arsenal player shared photos of his visit to the Palais de l’Elysée, where he was invited by French President Emmanuel Macron.

Adebayor was in Paris to participate in a charity football match organized by Varieties CF, aimed at raising funds for sick children.

The post, dated April 24, 2024, featured Adebayor alongside other African football legends such as Didier Drogba from Ivory Coast and El Hadji Diouf from Senegal.

In his caption, Adebayor expressed his gratitude for the opportunity, stating, “SEA, from ‘Kodjoviakopé’ to the ‘Palais de l’Elysée’.

Humbled to be invited by French President Emmanuel Macron to the Palais de l’Elysée, surrounded by legends.”

Adebayor, Drogba others at France Parliament

The game was played at the Stade Bernard Giroux.

Other notables who graced the game were Ruud Gullit, Eden Hazard, Arsene Wenger, Marcel Desailly, Robert Pires, Laurent Blanc and Didier Deschamps.
