Family announce January 21 for Auntie Muni’s final funeral rites

The family of the beloved waakye vendor, Hajia Imoro Muniratu, fondly known as Auntie Muni, has announced the date for her final funeral rites.

According to a social media announcement, the concluding Islamic prayers for Auntie Muni are scheduled to take place on Sunday, January 21, at 10 AM, at the Cantonments Police Mosque.

Following the prayers, there will be a gathering for well-wishers at the Auntie Muni Waakye Joint in Labone later on the same day.

Auntie Muni, celebrated for her delicious waakye offerings, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, at the age of 72.

Her family confirmed her demise, citing a brief illness that led to her passing at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) in Accra.
