Youth team coach from Liverpool, Steven Appleton, has openly expressed his deep fondness and admiration for the comedic talent and abilities of renowned Ghanaian actor Akwasi Boadi Akrobeto.
Appleton, who is currently in Ghana for scouting purposes, holds Akrobeto in high regard and couldn’t contain his excitement when he had the opportunity to meet Akrobeto on his Real News show on UTV.
When quizzed by Akrobeto if he had any knowledge of him and his show prior to appearing on it, Steven Appleton remarked, “You are very popular in the UK with your programme.
“It’s an honour to meet you,”.
Akrobeto has achieved international fame thanks to his unique and comical approach to presenting fixtures and results for major matches on his programme.
The award-winning actor has consistently been featured on prominent international media platforms, showcasing his remarkable comedic skills.
His videos have garnered attention from globally renowned footballers such as Daniel Sturridge and Rio Ferdinand, both of whom have confirmed themselves as big fans of his work.
In August 2022, Rio Ferdinand, a Manchester United legend, shared how people were using Akrobeto’s videos to tease him following Manchester United’s 4-0 loss to Brentford.
Ferdinand took to Twitter to reveal that individuals were sending him videos of Ghanaian comedian Akrobeto playfully mocking his former club.
In 2021, Akrobeto became a viral sensation after appearing in a fixture announcement video for Russian club Spartak Moscow.
The club utilised a humorous video featuring the comic actor to unveil the fixtures for the 2021/22 Russian Premier League season.
