Labour Shadow Minister allegedly suspended following complaint lodged against him

A shadow minister for Labour has stated that he will “cooperate fully” with Labour’s probe into a “allegation” made against him.

It comes amid rumours that the party has suspended shadow foreign office minister Bambos Charalambous following a complaint regarding his behaviour.

The Labour Party needs to look into an allegation, the Enfield Southgate MP acknowledged in a tweet.

“Letting the process run its course is right and proper.” I shall contribute my entire efforts and full cooperation.

‘It is not appropriate to say anything further at this time.’

The Guardian reported that the Enfield Southgate MP has been administratively suspended by the party, a move that means he will have the whip removed in Westminster while a probe is carried out.

Labour has been contacted for comment.
