Bayern Munich has expressed their interest in signing Harry Kane and reportedly made a verbal offer of £60 million with additional add-ons to Tottenham, which was turned down by the club.
Despite Tottenham’s reluctance to sell Kane, who has one year left on his contract, Bayern Munich and manager Thomas Tuchel seem determined to challenge the club’s stance and test their resolve.
The fans of the Bavaria club have made their stance clear on the choice of striker they deem fit to fill the void left behind by the departure of Robert Lewandowski.
Bayern fans pick Kane
According to a poll carried out by Kicker, Bayern Munich fans would prefer to see their club sign Harry Kane over Victor Osimhen and any other striker this summer.
The poll, of which over two hundred and forty-two thousand fans participated (242.8K) indicated that 34% of fans would like to see Bayern Munich sign Tottenham Hotspur’s Kane over Randal Kolo Muani (18%) and Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen (16%) followed by Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic (13%) and Werder Bremen’s Niclas Füllkrug (11%).
After making an opening offer of €70m plus bonuses to Tottenham for Kane, which was rebuffed, Bayern Munich plan on submitting a new improved offer to sign England’s top scorer, who as reported by SkySports is reported to be interested in a move to the German champion.
With 12 months remaining on his current deal, it’s widely reported that the Premier League side are unlikely to accept anything less than €100m for Kane, who scored 30 goals in 38 league games last season.
Regarding the future of Napoli’s Osimhen, the Italian champions remain hopeful that the Nigerian forward will sign a contract extension with the club.
Bayern’s interest in Vlahovic has never materialised while Kolo Muani could yet remain at Eintracht Frankfurt beyond the summer.
Madrid: Best option for Kane?
Sports Brief earlier reported that Real Madrid appears the most sensible transfer destination for Kane.
The Tottenham striker, who is set to run down his current contract if he is not sold, has been touted to be the best fit to fill the void created by the departure of Karim Benzema.
