Defender Stephan Ambrosius, who was loaned out from Hamburger SV just three days ago, is set to make his debut for Karlsruher SC in the German second tier on Saturday.
“We have deposited the wish that the new player should be operational quickly,” said coach Christian Eichner on Thursday.
“If he dares, and I only expect an answer, then he has very good opportunities to play,”
The defender had his medicals on Monday and completed his move on Tuesday morning.
His signing comes as a huge boost for Karlsruher SC who have five of their seven central defenders injured.
He could make his debut for Karlsruher SC when they travel to face Jahn Regensburg in the Bundesliga 2.
Ambrosius has struggled to break into manager Tim Walter’s team at Hamburg since returning from injury, which ruled him out the entire last season.
