Attacking midfielder, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, has said Sporting Lisbon will keep moving forward despite their defeat on Sunday against Sevilla.
Abdul Fatawu Issahaku’s reaction stems from his inability to secure victory for his side after missing a penalty.
In a Twitter post on July 25, he expressed gratitude to the club’s supporters for their love throughout the pre-season friendly match.
He wrote: “The process continue(s). It was great feeling first game at José de Alvalade stadium. Marvelous love from lovely fans. We keep going.”
During the game, Jesus Corona opened the scoring for Sporting Lisbon in the 15th minute.
Late in the second half, Paulinho equalised in the 85th minute to restore parity for Sporting Lisbon.
Three minutes after that game, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku came on to replace Nuno Santos to help his team fight for the winning game.
A penalty shootout was to determine which club would be victorious.
At the turn of the Ghana forward, he could not score, leaving Sporting Lisbon to lose 6-5 on penalties at the end of the 1-1 draw.
